GALLIMARD 100
The scenography of Gallimard’s 100th anniversary is a rereading of Zola’s quote “and this will kill that”, and the book will kill the stone. Prophetic vision of the place of the book in the news cognitive handover formerly given by the public building.
Today the observation is clear, the book has supplanted architecture in the popularization of knowledge.
It is for this reason that this project proposes to usethe book like a brick, literally, a constituent module of contemporary and explicit architecture.
Use the passive stocks of the publishing house in this way by offering them a vivid second life off the archives. Users thus wander through literary pockets, in digressions, whirlwinds prose and rhymes that have marked the history of Gallimard.
