COSY BOX XIV

Ephemeral club, Cannes Film Festival 2014 .

To design this pop up club, the first act was to create a neutral canvas.

The black background dissolves space, clears its limits.

A matrix of red lines redefines a new geometry of the place, merging plans of floors, walls and ceilings.

Mythological characters are emerging from the black depth of the space. These masses without contours are optical illusions, pointillist and monochrome.

Residing in the gap of the red and black, these fluorescent icons are trying to escape from the matrix. A candelabrum made of thousands of inverted champagne cups, a looted cornucopia,  illuminates the backdrop and reminds us the thrill of lost paradise. These frozen moment are resonances from different eras, evoking cunning sand false pretenses, the knowledge of good and evil.
