VIVID SOULS
From communal graves, church graveyards, to the underground quarries of the catacombs, Paris has had its own tradition for the dead. This was before legislature changed the status of cemeteries to the way we know them today.
This project releases places for contemplation, dissociating them from an area strictly for the dead and incorporating them within the urban fabric.
Urns, sealed within a cube of protection, are riveted to the wall, becoming a part of the stone. Use transcends the object, which once installed, creates a place charged with meaning.
